How to Afford a Tesla Even If You’re Not Rich
What I Learned from My Millionaire Friend
You might be one of the many people that dream of someday owning a Tesla. If you are I want to share my story and how I was able to afford the car of my dreams.
As a kid I would dream about the fancy cars, that I would come across in magazines. Dreaming that one day I could afford one. I thought doctors and lawyers were the only ones that could afford such cars. Perhaps I would land a well-paid job that would allow me to afford one.
As the years went by my dream of being able to buy an expensive car was put on hold. I got married and shortly after I became a father. The extra money that I would need to save for my dream car was being spent on paying bills and a mortgage. After paying my bills there was little money left to save for the down payment of a Tesla.
I started to look at my expenses, and made choices that would reduce the amount of money I was spending each month. I stopped buying the morning coffee at Starbucks and packed my lunch. Yes, everything that the financial gurus tells us to do in order to save money. Yet, it was not my expenses that I need to focus on to afford a Tesla.
It was the advice given to me by an entrepreneur that helped me achieve my goal. My friend Bill who had started a company with less than $1000 and recently sold it for a fortune. He shared some advice on how he went from being broke to becoming a millionaire.
He told me when he was getting started in business that he had created a vision board, and would paste things on the board that he wanted to achieve. It appeared weird at first that you can vision things into your life, but hey why not give it a try. He also told me that he taped a reinforcement message on his bathroom mirror. Every morning as he shaved he read the notes on the mirror it inspired him to make his dreams come true.
The subconscious mind has a unique way of working that stores your beliefs. When you feed your subconscious mind with positive beliefs, it works in the background to figure out how to make things happen. If you keep thinking about getting a brand-new bike the subconscious mind will start to help you make choices that will manifest the bike.
Let us get back to how I was able to afford the Tesla. I followed my friends advice and created a vision board and put a picture of a Tesla right in the center. Everyday I would look at my vision board and believe that I had that Tesla parked outside and that I owned it. I wrote the little notes and stuck them on the bathroom mirror every morning I would read my notes and clearly see myself driving the Tesla around town.
It did not happen overnight, but slowly I was finding opportunities to earn extra money. I needed the down payment for the car and had set my goal at $20,000 that would be sufficient to secure the loan and have an affordable car payment.
A few months had passed and I was promoted at my job. The increase in pay from my new promotion allowed me to save the extra income. Then I started an online business which added another source of income. As another side hustle I started driving for Uber and Lyft. Within a year I had saved the $20,000 I needed for the down payment on my dream car.
What I learned from my experience was that the vision board and the notes helped me focus on my goal. The vision board and notes made me focus on what I really wanted, and helped me find the opportunities to make extra money.
Set Goals Stay Focused
If you stay focused and believe that you can achieve something you can make it happen. There are goals that might be complicated, but for the majority of dreams it is possible to manifest things into your life. I am proof that it works I now own a Tesla, and am on my way to achieving another one of the goals I set on my vision board.
When I visited with my friend a few years later and drove up in my new Tesla he had a great big smile on his face. He knew I could make it happen and that if I believed in it that it would come true.
