The Evercade portable system is designed for retro gamers. The cartridge collection satisfies the physical media requirements of gamers, who like to collect. With a 4.3″ screen and 4–5 hour battery life providing enough time for us older guys to sneak in a game before the wife or kids find out. The system can also be connected via a mini HDMI cable to a TV. The system cost $79.99 US and the cartridges start at $19.99 US. The display is bright and designed to be viewable from various angles. The Evercade can be recharged through a mini USB port. The direction button has the retro feel and look and is precise.
As former owner of the long gone Atari Lynx, I noticed that they had a couple of volumes of Lynx titles. It’s been so many years since I played these games, I had to purchase this system. Even-though I could download these games online and play them through an emulator. There is something about playing games on the go on a dedicated hand held that bring back memories.

The Evercade is running proprietary emulation software. The system is cable of emulating various systems. The collections have a mix of games from various popular 8 bit or 16 bit systems. We know that it can handle NES and SNES games plus various Atari systems. There is no support currently to add your own ROMS, but the company may release a developer SD pack in the future.
There are currently over 120 games for the Evercade and more deals to license games are in the works.
The Evercade is a retro gaming powerhouse and even though it is running on emulation, there is very little lag. The developers have worked around the limitation of emulation to provide a very payable gaming experience. There is a niche for retro gaming systems, and the Evercade will find an audience. Those who like to play retro games and collect will definitely be happy getting one of these systems in the mail.
